Gen I  ´99 - ´07
Speedo
pin assignment

Hi folks,

At first without further explanations - only as a "knowledge database entry".

as the cables come into the connector from the harness.

If you want to build a test plug,

take   the connector housing of the 16-pin multiple plug from www.xmas1.at

(mail them at mail @ xmas1.de
 for orders - they deliver m.o.l. worldwide and speak ´n write english )

Item No. :  V-0944 5 / multiple plug ML 40 Multilock socket housing  ( with 16 slots )

then (probably) it looks like this:

all values in [ mm ] / milli meters

plus

Item no . : V-09444 / contact socket ML 40 (pack of 20)  ( "female" )

of which only 15 are actually needed, since # 14 is not used.

number: 1 x (V-) 09445 (multiplug, named "ML 40", 16 poles) also
needed: 1 x (V-) 09444 (connectors female / required: 1 pack of 20) - 15 of 16 slots used

In order to put a Gen I speedometer on the desk / workbench into the so-called self-test, it is sufficient, after consulting my brother, to connect the contacts listed below as follows:

7 .

orange / green (O / G)

==>

to (+) / plus

8.

black / white (thick 1.5²?) (B / W)

==>

to (-) / minus

9.

black / white (thin 0.75²?) (B / W)

==>

to (-) / minus

10.

red / blue (R / Bl)

==>

to (+) / plus

All other cables should not be connected under  any   circumstances, it could very well be that only 5V are allowed to flow here and then something will most likely be very nasty.
