Gen II  ´08 - ´12
Speedo
pin assignment

Hi folks,

At first without further explanations - only as a "knowledge database entry".

Top view of the connector
as the cables come into the connector from the harness.

If you want to build a test plug,

take   the connector housing of the 16-pin multiple plug from www.xmas1.at

(mail them at mail @ xmas1.de
 for orders - they deliver m.o.l. worldwide and speak ´n write english )

Item No. :  V-30838    / MJ 34 multi - lock socket housing  ( with 16 slots )

then (probably) it looks like this:

plus

2 x item no. :  V-30839   / contact sockets (pack of 10) ( "female" )

of which only 13 are actually needed, because the #  ..1.. , ..6.. , ..10..  ???  are not used / empty.

number: 1 x (V-) 30838 (multiplug, named "MJ 34", 16 poles) also
needed: 2 x (V-) 30839 (connectors female / required: 2 packs of 10) - 13 of 16 slots used for the gen2

in order to put a Gen II speedometer on the desk / workbench into the so-called self-test, it is sufficient, after consulting my brother, to connect the contacts listed below to a 12V battery as follows:

_.

orange / green (O/G)

==>

at ( + ) / Plus

_.

black / white (thick 1,5² ?) (B/W)

==>

at ( - ) / Minus

_.

black / white (thin 0,75² ?) (B/W)

==>

at ( - ) / Minus

_.

red / blue (R/Bl)

==>

at ( + ) / Plus

All other cables should not be connected under  any   circumstances, it could very well be that only 5V are allowed to flow here and then something will most likely be very nasty.
